What to do with your car in lockdown
While some of us may still be travelling to and from work and using our cars for our daily lives, during the current situation there will be many of us whose cars are sat on the drive or outside of our house, having not been driven for a number of days, here’s what you should do…
Start it
The worst thing you can do is to leave your car sitting for days or weeks on end as you are likely to visit it and find a flat battery, it is a good idea to start the car and go for a short drive every few days to keep things in working order. If you do have a flat battery, it isn’t the end of the world and you can check out our guide on what to do here.
Clean it
We are sure you are sitting here reading this and haven’t got multiple water bottles and empty packets lying around your car but, if you have, now is a good time to take care of that. Giving your car some TLC during this time means that when you hop in it for your next adventure (or trip to the supermarket) you will be able to not only feel swish, but enjoy a nice clean car too.
Check it
It’s also a good time to do those essential checks, like cleaning your lights, checking your tyre pressure and treads and making sure you have enough screenwash. It’s easy to forget these things when you are not driving your car every day but you also don’t want to be greeted with a nasty surprise or multiple lights on the dash when you get into your car.
Love it
Cliché but how could we miss this out? Remember how you felt when you first got it or how it feels to drive it. It won’t be long until you can head out on long drives again and until then, you always have the weekly shop.
