Audi Q8 Review
As competition within the luxury SUV range becomes increasingly stiff, Audi steps into the spotlight with the brilliant Q8. Here is our review of this fantastically rewarding SUV.
While competitors offer a range of different engine sizes, the Audi Q8 offers simply two; the 3.0-litre V6 diesel and the 3.0-litre V6 petrol. Don’t be put off and think that this choice is too limited, as both engines offer fantastic returns in terms of performance, providing a powerful and speedy ride to a large vehicle.
For those concerned with fuel efficiency, the Audi Q8 is a mild hybrid. The engine will turn off automatically for a limited time while you cruise at a set speed. It does this so well that you won’t even notice it happening but will certainly notice the extra money in your pocket when it comes to refuelling! This helps give the Q8 an edge over other luxury SUVs.
Four-wheel drive means that the Q8 is not only very fun to drive but also handles very well through corners thanks to a sharp and responsive steering system. Adaptive suspension creates a comfortable yet firm ride that provides a much-needed cushioning when tackling bumpier, off-road terrain. The front seats come with adjustable lumbar support to add to your level of comfort, a particular luxury if you are using the Q8 for long-distance drives.
For a larger family, the Q8 provides a large boot that is more than capable of stowing all of your holiday luggage. If you are wanting a more romantic getaway (and by that, we mean child-free!) then you can fold the rear seats flat to further increase the luggage space available.
With a five-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP thanks to a cabin oozing with safety features, the Audi Q8 is perfect for a busy family. Automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance are welcome additions to help keep your family safe in style!
